Think More Empowering Thoughts With NLP

Hemu Karkera, a certified trainer in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) from the USA holds a unique workshop aiming at empowerment. Neuro Linguistic Programming according to the online Wikipedia Dictionary is, ‘an interpersonal communication model and an alternative approach to psychotherapy based on the subjective study of language, communication and personal change’.

According to Wikipedia, ‘empowerment’ means ‘increasing the spiritual, political, social and economic strength of individuals and communities, it often involves the empowered developing confidence in their own capacities’.

So we may say that the key to empowerment is confidence. We may however wonder what the path to empowerment and building confidence is.

We all know that confidence is the crux to empowerment. If we encounter repeated failures to attain our goals, our entire self-confidence may be shattered and we may be plagued with questions of self-doubt.

We may wonder if success may ever come to us. We may be puzzled as to why our relationships tend to sour. We may be confused as to why we are always fearful.

We may turn into fatalists who think that we have been born under an unlucky star, therefore there is little we can do on our own to change our destiny. We may haplessly seek the advice of astrologers and ojhas hoping for a better future. We need to realise that it is not that unlucky stars have programmed our failures but we are the ones who have erroneously programmed ourselves.

Hemu Karkera explains how wrong we are in making destiny a scapegoat for our misfortunes. The solution to our problems instead lies within us. “Philosophers have been telling us that we attract everything in our lives towards us. Whatever situation we may be in today, whether a happy situation or a miserable situation, it is we who have attracted it towards us. The scientists also agree that we are attracting happiness, misery, success or failure towards us. It is our mind which has been doing so,” said Mr.Karkera.

Once we realize that we can do something to improve our lives we gain more confidence. This is indeed is the first step towards empowerment. Mr. Karkera explains, in the introductory lecture to his empowerment workshop, how the mind attracts events towards us using the model of the mind conceptualised by Dr.John Kappas in the early 1980s.

When a baby is born into the world he is known to be an embodiment of purity. This is because the child is born with just a subconscious mind and is therefore at bliss. As he hasn’t developed a conscious mind as yet, he has no opinions and no likes or dislikes. Therefore the child is enjoying a blissful existence.

However as the child grows up he is indoctrinated by his parents, teachers and society. “The child is told whether he is a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian, which religion he belongs to, what his nationality is. With this set of instructions, the child starts developing a critical mind or a filter between ages two and eight.” The child thereafter starts analysing, discriminating and using logic. He judges as to whether an experience is good or bad and before long he converts them to good and bad memories respectively.

Before long, the child starts to form beliefs and attitudes. Attitudes give rise to behaviour. Our behaviour creates an impact in our environment and determines the result that awaits us. So if we don’t like the result that our behaviour is creating we should look inwards and think on how we can change ourselves.

It’s not just all about theory. As Karkera explains, we attract events towards us using the principles of Quantum Physics. This is indeed a scientific truth.

“If our thoughts comprise of fear of the unknown, death, rejection or failure we will be attracting more of these in our lives. Our programmes of fear are embedded in the subconscious mind. They need to be changed,” Mr.Karkera cautions. “We therefore need to change our negative thoughts and beliefs to bring about a positive change in our lives.”

The reason children are so happy is because a child just has a subconscious mind. It is the barrier of the conscious mind with its filters that seems to create the unrest within us. Why are we at bliss when we are asleep? That’s because we have switched off our conscious mind and are in the soothing realm of the subconscious mind. Sleep revitalizes us as the subconscious mind recharges us with its energy. Waking hours on the contrary fatigue us as the conscious mind uses up energy.

Mr. Karkera in his empowerment workshop teachs the unique technique of staying in the subconscious mind even during your waking hours, by breaking down the barrier of the conscious mind so that you don’t feel tired. You will be taught the tools and techniques needed to change the faulty programmes, fears and doubts in your subconscious mind.

Negative thoughts simply block the energy in our system, which leads to various diseases. But your mind can also repair your body if you allow it to. Once we change the faulty programmes in us, the world around us changes. We can prevent failures by simple positive changes in our thoughts and beliefs. We can achieve anything by the positive power of the mind. And that indeed is the route to empowerment.

After attending Mr.Karkera’s introductory lecture, do enrol for his two-day weekend empowerment workshop. Most weekends just go to waste by partying and watching movies. Instead join a workshop that will empower you for a lifetime.

Mr. Karkera’s weekend empowerment workshop will teach you how to de-programme and re-programme the subconscious mind, how to build wealth and good health, how to build and maintain excellent relationships, the simple, yet sure-shot formulae for success and many other crucial things.
